Rhetoric as Critique: Towards a Rhetorical Philosophy

While philosophy has been defined as a critical endeavour since Plato, the potential of rhetoric mostly overlooked. In recent years, critique itself – means enlightenment and emancipation come under attack. there have various attempts to renew strengthen theory practice, not yet played part in these attempts. Addressing this lacuna, article argues that can function force within philosophy. The rhetorical perspective confronts claim rational discourse universal knowledge with contingency philosophical languages, representation, social practices. Moreover, it allows us think an activity subject is at same time constituted transformed by it. This opens up possibility philosophizing meets its standards taking into account both conditions own speaking what must exclude ‘other’ order function.
